Complete Dentures
Complete dentures are required when a patient needs a top, bottom, or full set of teeth. This is the most common procedure for dentures as they have years of successful history, which has only advanced due to modern technology. The process to receive complete dentures can be lengthy as it requires at least four appointments. After the fourth appointment, there is an adjustment period for patients due to their gums acclimating to their new dentures.
Immediate Dentures
For those who may be unfamiliar with dentures, immediate dentures are needed for more serious cases of dental extractions. They are dentures that are immediately inserted into a patient’s mouth after having all their teeth extracted. A mold of their teeth is taken prior to the extraction(s), which allows for their dentures to be made to fit seamlessly, and quickly. We understand that the thought of having missing teeth can be worrisome, so immediate dentures are an effective solution.
Partial Dentures
A partial denture is a removable denture that helps support your surrounding teeth when there is a missing tooth. It also helps prevent tooth loss, rotation, and shifting that could occur if the gap is left open. Partial dentures tend to be made from an acrylic or metal composition which allows the partial denture to resemble the surrounding teeth, giving it an aesthetically pleasing and comfortable look. A partial denture can be made within one day, making it extremely efficient.
Denture Relines
A denture reline is required if your dentures start to fit incorrectly and feel uncomfortable in your mouth. This may happen due to multiple natural factors, such as: tooth loss, weight loss, or illness. We recommend that you have your dentures relined every two years to ensure they properly fit your mouth. If you wear improper dentures, it can cause irritation and inflammation which can progress to other more serious oral concerns.
Denture Repairs
We understand that accidents may happen with dentures, which is why we make it easy to get your dentures repaired at our practice. Dentures may become worn over time, tear, or break; but they can be repaired without the need of a full replacement. However, if you have a denture that is broken, it is crucial to have it fixed immediately by a professional. You could end up injuring your gums and worsening your dentures the longer you wait.
Denture Rebases
Caring for your dentures is an important task to ensure that they do not become ill-fitting. Some patients do not realize when they soak their dentures in harmful solutions, it may cause their dentures to become warped or brittle. A denture rebase is performed to fix any cracks or misalignments that have occurred, but does not impact the teeth portion of the denture. This means that the rebase will be completed to the pink acrylic portion of the denture only.
